Membership and Recruitment Project

UGGA drove its nationwide expansion and structural sustainability through the strategic Membership Recruitment and Retention Project. Operating across more than 113 districts now, this project focused on upgrading traditional enrollment through an Online Integrated Membership System and localized census tracking to accurately evaluate youth needs. By establishing grassroots recruitment teams at regional, county, and ward levels, UGGA actively mobilized new generations of Sunrays, Brownies, Guides, and adult volunteers. Crucially, the project bridged internal social development with operational growth. It partnered with the World Guide Foundation to provide social entrepreneurship training across regional structures. This double-sided strategy ensured new members were not just enrolled, but immediately integrated into life-skills programs. As a result, UGGA now successfully sustains an active, data-managed network of over 436,000 empowered girl guides across Uganda.
